Rainy Days Are Here Again

Lots of wind and rain the last couple of days. Makes a person just want to curl up inside and stay there. Looking forward to the sunshine coming out this weekend!

We are studying The Declaration of Independence this week along with all of the key players from the year 1776...Patrick Henry, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Jefferson to name a few. We have had so many great resources this week, but I loved this book that we read aloud today.

A cookie the size of my head? Yes please!! Unfortunately, as far as she was concerned, she had to share it with her sister.

The "War" winner!!

Finally using the iPad for school stuff on a regular basis and have come across some apps the kids love. So amazing to look through all that is available!

A conversation that made me laugh quietly, so I had to snap a picture to remind me. Isabelle was reassuring Kate that she loves her so much, but that she is going to be a grown-up shortly because she has so many grown-up teeth. Because of all of the grown-up teeth she would be moving out and becoming mommy soon. Kate seemed slightly distressed until Isaac chimed in and reminded Isabelle that she had a lot of years until she was old enough to be a mom or move out for that matter. Thank goodness he is right.

Kick To Get Fit Jr. to the rescue. All of this rain had them literally bouncing off of the walls today. Thank goodness no one was below us this week!!

New Chicken Corn Chowder and Pumpkin Chip Bread for dinner. Kate and I approved. Isaac and Isabelle passed on the soup, which meant an mom mandated pass on the bread. You win some, you lose some.

  1. Great pictures, and the food is making my stomach growl. Nothing better on a cold, rainy day than games, books, fresh bread, and warm cheesy soup... Love you and look forward to whipping all of you at War very soon!!
