Bird Watching

So much fun to see this Pileated woodpecker and the Northern Flicker woodpecker just outside our dining room window yesterday. We saw the Pileated woodpecker once last year and have been on lookout since then. He spent so much time on the cedar tree closest to the house and we were able to get some great shots. The Northern Flicker joined him at the end, but only for a short time. They were both so beautiful and fun to watch!!

Reflecting on Fun Times with Grandpa and Neena

We had such a great time the week after Christmas as we spent time in North Carolina with my parents, sister, nephews and niece. I haven't taken the time to post any of the pictures, so thought I would post here and there over the next few weeks. It has been fun to look back through the pictures and reflect on all of the memories made.

Pretty, Pretty Princess was a hit with Isabelle and she had many that were willing to play alongside her.

Who doesn't want to be a princess for an afternoon?!? :)

Lots of baking took place at the beginning of the week and these two were more than willing to unwrap the candy needed for various recipes.

Neena frosting the family favorite...sugar cookies with powdered sugar frosting and sprinkles.

Grandpa and the boys looking for shells.

Nothing like a good story, especially when it is read by Grandpa or Neena.

I absolutely love how these pictures of Kate and Neena turned out! They are definitely among my favorites from the week.

The princess game continued to be a hit and Isabelle was beyond thrilled when she finally managed to win. We attempted to remind her of the need for inward beauty during those games when things weren't going her way, but we had a difficult time tearing her away from the mirror. :)

Rest time and a movie...great combo. The littlest one got the favored seat this time around.

We saw an amazing number of dolphins this year!! The kids were so excited and were able to use the binoculars quite a bit.

If only they knew that playing Scrabble with Neena is very, very dangerous. She rarely loses!

How cute is this?!?

A table was set us and declared lego central for the week. Lots of building took place!

Dance All Day

Yesterday the girls wanted to wear their matching outfits. It was a perfect opportunity to dance the day away. It was cold and wet outside, but we were staying in for the day, so short sleeves and bare legs were not a problem. I wish I had caught some of the dances they put together throughout the day, but thought I would at least share the pictures.
